"The print is based on kozy's 2009 drawing "Spirit Animal Collective". The drawing was the culmination of kozy's 4 year-long "Unknown Portraits" project, which involved Kozy's nearly obsessive search through old photographs in junk shops from Australia to Spain to Northern England to San Francisco to our own backyard in Venice Beach (and more!). Most of the drawings were the size of playing cards, but for the final artwork Kozy created a massive graphite rendering of a 1940's-era New Zealand primary school class photo. In it she imagined the camera to reveal the spirit animal within each of the students. This summer we decided to produce a colorized version reminiscent of old tinted photos (Dan's grandmother used to tint photos as a side job while raising her children) and this is the result." http://www.kozyndan.com/

In a James Jean dream

I've been a follower of James Jean's work for a while now. We have a few of his prints in our home and definitely think he's got talent! James is a Taiwanese-American visual artist, known for his fine art gallery work. Naturally, being an artist, James thinks outside the square. He's branched out into jewellery, and boy am I glad!

Morocco

One place I've always wanted to visit is Morocco. The culture, the vibrancy, and the history has intrigued me for many years. So much so that our next collection is completely Moroccan inspired!

The first instalment is coming out soon. It's all very exciting. We're trying to capture the brass filigree work and colourful Moroccan tassels that are so prevalent in their design.
